Last weekend, we went to Dallas to visit the Johnsons. We started out Wednesday after work and spent the evening with Uncle Ernest and Aunt Glenda. Michael had a meeting in Tyler the next morning so after that we headed up to Dallas! It was a perfect, clear, cool day and Michael thought about going to the Dallas Zoo on our way through. I am SO glad we did! We had the best time! I had not been to the zoo in years. We were so impressed! First thing we did was head to eat :) They have a restaurant that has a glass wall that looks into the lion cage...crazy. You can see how close we were to the lions! Giraffes are amazing! Beautiful. This is Michael and Ryan in a safari jeep...they are hard to see. Every time I see an elephant, I always think hefalump (Chelle called them that when she was younger...is that from a book/movie?) There was a big part of the zoo that was set up with a jungle feel. They had a big monkey area but this is the only big one we saw. He was asleep like a boy...spread eagle :) Michel and Ryan=Swamp people Penguins!!!! I love this sweet face. They had a big kid area at the zoo...lots of animals to pet and lots to learn about animals. Ryan got to pet a goat! He wasn't quite sure about it. I love his serious face when he is trying to figure something out. On Friday, the Johnsons had work and school so we went to McKinney and shopped in their oh so cute town square! I have heard about it from several friends and was so glad to get to see it. Wish we had a town square here! We ate lunch at a very cool English restaurant. Michael's ancestors are from England so he was very excited to eat there. This was our appetizer: That evening we went to Gloria's with Natalie and Brandon. We love that place! Ryan got to try the black bean dip...it's not spicy or chunky. They bought Ryan his first Baylor hat and shirt :) What a boy! (for some reason we don't have any pictures of Nat, Brandon and Peter...sorry!)

Saturday we hung out and the girls went shopping. Love going shopping with Nat and Caroline...they always dress so cute so I try to get ideas from them! That night we watched Baylor (Nat and Brandon went there) beat Texas. That was a big deal! We had a great weekend away...headed back to Lumberton on Sunday morning so we could be home for trick or treating in our neighborhood...
