KISSES and many other random things

Kisses!!!!! Like, kisses involving teeth, drool, a little snot and an open mouth...and that is how Ryan kisses his momma and daddy :)  He has been giving kisses a lot more lately and we love it!  Ryan also loves blowing kisses...and those are just as sweet and a little less messy...except for some flying drool :) He still likes to cuddle some and it makes our day.

Ryan is learning new words every day!  It is so amazing to watch him develop.  He will repeat a lot of things after us once or twice but there are also a lot of words that he says on his own.  Some of the latest things he says are "nana" for banana (he LOVES banana!), "te" for tree, "bir" for bird.  He also says "la uuuu" for love you!
Yesterday evening when I was in the shower, he was at the shower door with his hand up to the glass door (he knows that I will touch my hand to his against the shower door if he does this) and he kept saying "la uuu"...precious!

The other day I had gone to the store while Ryan was napping and when he woke up he was looking for me.  Michael said that he pointed to the shower and they went to check and I wasn't in there. He kept saying "momma" over and over again until I got home.  When I was approaching the door, I could hear him on the other side saying "momma" :) Made me happy!

Jenny and I have this thing that we do from when we were kids.  You know how in some songs (like New Kids on the Block songs!) they will say "wave your hands in the air, wave em like you just don't care"?  WHAT does that EVEN mean?!!!  Well, we have always made fun of that by waving our arms crazily in the air and waving them like we just don't care :)  Jenny did that the other day in front of Ryan and said "I don't care!" crazily and he started to copy her without us even trying to get him to!  So fun!  He kept doing it over and over that evening!  He made us laugh so hard :)

When Michael gets home and Ryan hears him come in, he gets so excited and drops (or throws) whatever he is playing with and high tails it to the door :)

The last couple times when Ryan and I walked in the neighborhood, he talked the WHOLE walk.  Cracked me up...he was pointing and talking, looking back at me, pointing and talking. I loved it!
Ryan is understanding more and more of what we say and expressing to us his like and dislike of things. If you say "outside" he will get very excited and go to the door.  A couple of times, when he was ready for bed, he would go to the fridge and point (because he knows his bottle is in there) and then point to the chair where we rock him to sleep.

Ryan likes to help me empty the silver ware from the dish washer.  I will take out the sharp knives and he will hand me each spoon and fork and after each one he says thank you which sounds like "aa uuu".  (When I type out things the way Ryan says them, I am HOPING that when Ryan is all grown up, I will remember how he used to say things when he was a baby. I have no idea if what I type actually comes across to anyone but me :)

His personality is really coming alive!  He likes to make people laugh and be silly :)

He is very friendly and will wave at everyone we pass in the grocery store (I love taking him with me.) Babies have such a special draw for people unlike anything I have ever seen.  People who would never talk to me will talk to my baby!

I think God made babies heavenly magic!  And I am so thankful that we get to experience this miraculous time with Ryan.

Words etc.

Ryan has been saying a few new words lately!  My favorite is "puppy" cause it is just so stinkin cute :)  He also has started saying "all done".  A few times he has tried "oh no"and "elephant" .  The words he says a lot are still dada, daddy, momma, uh oh, hi and bye and he says "MMMMMmmmmmmm" almost every time he takes a bite :)

He also does the sign for "more".

He has finally started blowing kisses and he does it ALL the time! Love it.

He still loves to wave at every car that passes our house and pretty much every person that he sees.

I love how how babies develop different waves.  It seems like every week Ryan is waving differently!  The past week or so, he waves with his thumb turned in toward his palm and his other 4 fingers waving by closing them over his thumb.  It is precious!

Something else that Ryan has been doing is when I am washing dishes or cooking dinner and he wants my attention, he will take my foot and turn it out towards him...pretty smart really...it gets my attention and that is the point :)

Memorial Day 2011

We were home on Memorial Day this year and got to relax....it was nice!  We got this little pool to play in and Ryan loves it!

Of course, we had to get an ice cream cone too!  Ryan likes all things sweet :)
